Marble Arch on Ice

The rink will not open this year. It was open December 2, 2004 - January 16, 2005.

Outdoors. This is the first year of operation for this rink. The rink is small, about the size of New York's Rockefeller Center (not Central Park's Wollman Rink, as the rink's website suggests). The view of the Marble Arch is beautiful at night, but unfortunately there is lots of traffic whizzing by the "traffic island" that the arch is on. Ice conditions were poor, as the ice was not resurfaced after each session. Skate rentals included in admission fee. Coat check is available for £1. The cafe has a decent selection of snacks. Photography is not permitted while the photographer is on the ice - the ice marshalls enforce this. A convenient way of getting to the rink is to take the "tube" - the (red) Central line to the Marble Arch station. Take the correct exit from the station (follow the signs) and the rink is right in front as you come up the stairs.
